The film was the Scottish tale in Animated Tales of the World, coordinated by S4C on behalf of the Children’s Television Trust International. The first series of animated tales involved 26 countries, each contributing a unique animated tale from their culture and was screened internationally in early 2004.

The music for The Loch Ness Kelpie was by Icelandic super band Sigur Ros (www.sigur-ros.com). Director Iain Gardner travelled to Iceland to work with them on The Loch Ness Kelpie soundtrack. The hauntingly beautiful soundtrack perfectly compliments Iain Gardner's eloquent and atmospheric painting style.
