Description: One of a series of advertising films made for George Guthrie Butcher, Glasgow, showing how sausages are made.

Screened in Guthrie’s shop window in Maryhill Road until crowds gathering outside on the pavement spilled over into the road and the police objected. (anecdotal evidence from member of public at a screening)

Preservation of this film supported by the National Heritage Memorial Fund.

Shotlist: Credits (.07) Butcher cuts up meat. Best of beef - mechanically minced. Fed into sausage machine. The sausages are filled and linked (2.00) Mother gets Guthrie's sausages for tea. A woman in the butcher's shop. Back home, she cooks the sausages and serves them to her family. Golly, Guthrie's sausages are good - why not take home Guthrie's sausages (3.15)
