Description: Set in Australia, a little girl speaks about her pet called Sammy. All that is seen of the pet is the shoebox he was kept in. The girl takes him to show and tell at school. Eventually her pet dies through lack of food, and she buries him in a bucket of sand.

'Suburban Australia' featured in this film was actually re-created in a warehouse in Edinburgh. Part of the Centenary Reels film scheme, funded by Scottish Film Council and Scottish Television.
