Director Matthew Lloyd explores the imagined future for the village, built to great acclaim and expense during the 1970s oil boom. Combining unusual use of archive with stunning photography and a haunting soundscape, “Pollphail” unravels the unique and unsettling history to reveal a very different future than was planned for the village, and clashing ideals about how its life should now play out.
