Description:
An educational documentary about the discovery and excavation of the Roman bathhouse at Bothwellhaugh in Lanarkshire.
In 1975 - 1976 Professor Keppie directed an archaeological excavation at Bothwellhaugh, Lanarkshire, on the site of a Roman bath-house of the 2nd century AD. The site was subsequently consolidated for permanent public viewing, and lies within Strathclyde Country Park. The work was recorded, and made into a 15 minute film produced by the University of Lancaster. Only four video copies of the film ever existed and all seemed long lost, until Prof. Keppie unearthed the copy which was given to his parent institution, the Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow.
