Discusses:- Filmed over one week, edited in one weekend. Made by Brian English and Gail Frater. Record for the local community of the Muirhouse Gala itself, showing how communities like those of West Granton can celebrate and enjoy community spirit. Spent the whole week filming the Gala and then decided to piece it together of pieces of 1930s music, to add an uplifting feel. Although West Granton can seem deprived / depressing - flats getting pulled down etc, this film shows a positive side to the community coming together. The music 'lifted' the piece. Small section of the community got together. Director and Gail Frater are volunteers for Pilton Video. Some helpers, but mainly a two man piece.
