The police are constantly at the door and the neighbours are always put out. This time she ends up in Carlisle. What should he do? Let her face up to her responsibilities or feed the addict by taking her back. Set over 24 hours, Hugh finally confronts his mother on a deserted street about the Little God and the whirlpool that binds them.
