Description: The history of the atom stems back to the hay day of Greek philosophy, when science and philosophy were united as one. The word atom meaning literally un-cuttable has become rather inappropriate in the light of nuclear development and the splitting of the atom. How has the relentlessness of scientific endeavour affected the way we relate to the world and our concept of god as creator? Has man become the only god?
