Description: A short comedy in which a cine club member is determined to win the coveted Rosebowl trophy at all costs, even if it means murdering his rivals in various ingenious ways. However the women members of the club have other ideas.

Note from Mr Saberton: A club member is determined to win the coveted Rosebowl trophy at all costs, even if it means murdering his rivals in various ingenious ways. This was filmed at Coursington Road and was originally silent. The commentary was written and added by George Morice, sometime in the late 1980's.

title - credits - shot of cine club doorway in street with sign 'Film of the Year Competition' - club member is determined to win the competition - he enters club and shakes hands with club president Willie Black - member meets other club members and listens to them showing off their technical knowledge - he sees the Rose Bowl trophy and decides to win it at any cost - President introduces the competition, boasts about how the male members have got rid of all of the women's entries and thanks the tea-maker in the corner - members prepare for the competition and new member decides to dispose of them one by one - member Bryan starts to repair his projector, so the new member turns the power back on and electrocutes him (3.19) member Jack laces up his projector, but ends up getting entangled in his 8mm film - new member goes over to 'help', but strangles Jack with his film (4.46) new member offers to help member Ken to cut his film on the guillotine, but instead cuts off Ken's hand - member Jessie sees him out the door and gives him his hand to take away (5.38) new member helps member John to get a cup of tea, but knocks him out with a sleeping draught - new member walks up to the podium to grasp the Rose Bowl prize, but is electrocuted by a cable attached by the women members, who take the trophy to applause all round - THE END (7.39)
