Description: A short drama which tells the story of a young man who steals a car to impress his girlfriend, only to find that there is a baby in the boot.

Note from Mr Saberton: This film was made for the Strathclyde Film Event on the theme of "The Telephone Call". The film tells the story of a young man who steals a car only to find that there is a baby in the boot. The final scenes were filmed in Strathclyde Country Park with the assistance of the Park Ranger Service.

DALZIEL CINE & VIDEO CLUB PRESENTS - title - credits - brief shot of car at kerb - inside house, mother sits knitting in living room, chatting to young daughter - her salesman husband phones her from his car phone - a young couple come out of pub and arrange a date for the next day - salesman drives Austin Maxi out of garage and parks in front of house, and his wife puts the baby in the boot in a basket, then goes back into the house - young man comes along the street, trying car door handles - he finds the Maxi open and steals it, not realising the baby is in the back - the mother and daughter come out of the house to find the car gone and phone the police (5.11) the young man drives the car along the motorway and into Strathclyde Country Park, where he goes for a walk with the young woman - the salesman phones the police, but they can't trace the car - the couple come back to the car and find the baby in the boot, and run away as a countryside ranger arrives in a Land Rover - the ranger uses the car phone to phone the salesman - the family arrive to retrieve the car and the daughter retrieves the baby, which is actually her doll, from the boot - THE END (9.09)
