Description: A short comedy in which members of the Dalziel Cine Club try to come up with an idea for a film for the Strathclyde Film Event on the theme of 'inflation', but instead save money by using an old club film.

Note from Mr Saberton: This film was made for the Strathclyde Film Event on the theme of "inflation" and portrays the club trying to come up with an affordable script before finally resorting to use clips from an old film, Dr Kilimov - see ref. 7396. The club scenes were filmed in the Wrangholm Hall Community Centre which has since been demolished. This was the first club film completed after the move to Wrangholm Hall and came second in the competition within one point of the winner. The film's main interest is that it features all the members of the day. There is a nice scene where the old film is shown on the clubs Eumig P8 projector. These were unusual machines in that the film wound off from the back of the reel i.e. anti-clockwise. You get a good view of the threading of these projectors. The main point of the film was to develop a story that would involve all the club and could be made on a club night as an exercise in shooting and editing single 8 sound. I think the music used on the Dr Kilimov clip was the original sound taken from the coupled tape. The move to Wrangholm Hall was due to the club having been told they could no longer use the premises in Coursington Road. It necessitated changing the meetings to a Wednesday night instead of Tuesday and was not a success.
