Description:
A visit made by the Scottish Curling Team to Canada in 1949. Features footage of curling team walking through a station, piper leading curlers on a street parade, followed by close up of team members before play at an indoor ice rink and general views of the curling match.
It is likely this film records the Scottish team's first visit to Canada since 1938, just prior to the Second World War to compete against Canada in the Strathcona Cup (which Scotland won on this occasion) [research is currently underway to verify]
See also ref. 9906 which we believe to be the return visit of the Canadian curlers a year later.
