Description:
Campaign film highlighting the effects of the public expenditure cuts on university students, as seen through the eyes of Sammie, a female student at Glasgow University. Using photomontage, graphics, newspaper headlines and animation to convey propaganda and government position, with voiceover political song in the style of Woody Guthrie. Includes coverage of 1975 boycott of refectory over rising food prices.
Made whilst Allen was a postgraduate student at Glasgow University Drama Dept. Glasgow University was the only major university not affiliated to the National Union of Students at this time.
