Description: A linen weaver in the Kincardineshire village of Luthermuir setting up and working at his loom. [The last linen weaver to weave by hand].

The weaver uses the punched card system: punched his own cards to produce his own designs. Before he retired, the weaver featured in the film had built up world-wide custom for his unique high quality damask and linen work. The punch card system was adopted by fairgrounds to record music.

Information from resident of Luthermuir, January 2004: The hand loom weaver still lives in Luthermuir in the same house that he was born in 92 years ago. 'Willie' the weaver was presented with the M.B.E. by Lord Arbuthnott in later years.
