Description: An appeal film for the Alexander Anderson Home for Spastics in Wishaw. Fund raising events, attended by local MPs and Max Bygraves.

Please note original film is in poor physical condition.

Made as an appeal film, shown at local clubs, etc. Arthur Wilson, a miner, seen diving into 20ft. deep shaft known as the "Wishing Well", to retrieve coins thrown in by miners on pay day. He did this at the Glasgow Fair and Christmas for 13 years. Raised £200-£300 at a time for the Home. He only stopped when the colliery closed around 1974.
