Description: Harkness House in Bellshill was an adult education project managed by Katherine Dewar, and her sister De Courcey taught arts and crafts there. The project was designed for unemployed workers and the visit of the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) was part of his tour of projects for the unemployed, sponsored by the Scottish Committee of the National Council of Social Service.
