A full performance of Vespri, recorded at the King's Theatre in Edinburgh.
Vespri is a suite of dances choreographed by Andre Prokovsky, who was married to Galina Samsova between 1972-1981. Samsova was a principal dancer with, and later artistic director of, Scottish Ballet.
'A brilliant and witty one-act piece to the ballet music written by Verdi for his opera ‘The Sicilian Vespers’, with sparkling costumes and settings by Norman MacDowell.' (STA SB Box 15/3a)
This tape also contains footage of a stage rehearsal of Act One of La Sylphide. The location and date of this rehearsal are unknown, but the performance resembles others of La Sylphide at the King's Theatre in Edinburgh - for example, the recording at ref. 11296
