Description: Amateur footage of the Carmunnock May Day celebrations and a display event at a riding school.

Shotlist: Shots of two girls at a tuck shop stall. Men standing outside a PA booth, one man puts on a record. Horses in a stable and a woman on horseback. Shots of more people on horseback riding in a line. A man watches as people on horseback ride around a walled paddock with a temporary jump bar set up on logs. The people then ride the horses over the jumping bar. Shots of the people, who seem to all be pre-teen to teenage girls, ride over the bar set at different heights. Shots of the girls, now in riding jackets, riding over a higher bar. Repeated normal and slow motion shots of the riders jumping over the bar. Shots of a man, the instructor, and one of the riders practising equestrian movements. Further shots of people jumping the bar and riding around the paddock on the horses. Shots of a pipe band parading down a street, May Day procession. Shots of people on horseback riding on either side of a car, more cars follow along the road followed by a float in the shape of a ship and decorated cars. More shots of the pipe band. Shots of a child holding a cushion with a crown on it. The gala queen and her retinue appear behind. The pipe band, then the gala queen and retinue process down a grassy hill. Provost follows behind.
