Description: Damaged bank notes are rendered useless and burned by the Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Please note it is the first version (1966) that has been transferred to broadcast standard tape for access. The second version (1976) is available on non-broadcast copies only.

Additional documentation provided by HBOS Group Archives dates first version as 1966 with a new version 1975. It also notes the original version of 1966 was screened throughout the world, winning 6 Scottish and 7 International Awards, including a silver medal at Cannes.

Version Two features same format and sequence of events as Version 1, but up-dated to 1976. £5 notes used in place of £1 notes.

Commentary also varies very slightly in the two versions but follows same basic script. Background music is very different in the two versions - the 1966 version being quite formal, the 1976 version being more funky 'pop' music.
