Description: A short domestic comedy in which a clock-repairer's brother-in-law causes havoc by getting the Burgh Council to deliver the town hall clock to the house for repair. This film is a follow-on storyline from ref. 7443.

Note from Mr Saberton: This domestic comedy was made for the Strathclyde Film Event on the theme of "Once Upon a Time" and with the success of "The Complete Magician" - see ref. 7443 - we brought back the main characters for this sequel where Andrew is now trying to repair clocks. Once again his brother-in-law creates confusion. It was filmed at Jack Anderson's house. This film won the Choice of the Clubs Competition in 1990.

DALZIEL CINE CLUB - title - Sadie McDonald outside her new house is accosted by her nosy neighbour Mrs. Pearson, who talks to her non-stop and asks if her husband Andy will take a look at her clock which is not working - the McDonalds talk in the living room about their neighbour and her hen-pecked husband, and about the boiler explosion, caused by her brother Albert, which forced them to move house - Andy talks about wanting to get the contract to fix the town hall clock from the Burgh Council (4.14) brother-in-law Albert calls round to apologise for blowing up their house - Andy goes out to buy chips and warns Albert not to touch anything - the nosy neighbour comes round with the clock and assumes Albert is Andy McDonald - she listens in as Albert talks on the phone to the Town Clerk, and tells him that Andy repairs clocks at his house - the neighbour drops a clock as Albert returns to the room, and they both pick up the pieces - she leaves and Albert decides to try to fix her clock (7.19) Andy returns with his chips, but Sadie comes in and he stuffs the chips inside the clock - later on, Andy is repairing a clock and Sadie reading her magazine - Bert phones to tell him about the phone call from the council and the nosy neighbour comes to collect her clock - the council arrive outside and dump the town clock in the front garden, the nosy neighbour finds Andy's chips inside her clock, and Andy escapes out the door as the cuckoo clock starts to sound - ecs - THE END (12.34)
